Privacy Policy for Rightpass

Last updated: June 6, 2026

Rightpass is an app that helps users store their loyalty cards, discount cards, membership cards and similar store cards in one convenient place on their phone. The goal of Rightpass is to make it easier to quickly find and show the correct card or barcode while shopping, without having to open many different store apps.

1. No account or login

Rightpass does not require users to create an account, log in, register, or provide personal account information. There is no user profile, cloud account, or online Rightpass account connected to the app.

2. Saved card data

All cards and related information that you add to Rightpass are stored locally on your own phone. This may include card names, card numbers, barcodes, QR codes, images, notes or other information that you choose to add inside the app.

Rightpass does not provide cloud syncing, remote backup, or online storage of your saved cards. Optional features such as card photo scanning and Smart Card Match are described below.

3. Optional card photo scanning

If you choose to add a card by taking or selecting a photo, Rightpass may process that image to detect the card name, issuer, card number, barcode or QR code. Some barcode detection may happen on your device. If automatic scanning is enabled, the selected image may be sent securely to the Rightpass scan API and processed with Google Gemini to extract card details.

Card photos are used only to provide the scan feature. They are not used for advertising, are not sold, and are not used to create a user profile.

4. Location data and Smart Card Match

Rightpass may access location data if you enable location-based features such as Smart Card Match or Smart Checkout. This may include approximate location, precise location, and, if you explicitly allow it in Android settings, background location. Location data is used to suggest or prepare the card you are likely to need near a store, so you can open the correct card faster at checkout.

When Smart Card Match is used, your current coordinates may be sent to OpenStreetMap Overpass API endpoints to look up nearby shops or places. Rightpass uses the response only to match nearby store names with cards saved on your device. Rightpass does not sell location data, does not use it for advertising, and does not use it to track you across apps or websites.

For background Smart Checkout, Android geofences may be registered on your device for nearby store locations. Matching results and geofence metadata are stored locally on your device. You can disable location access or background location at any time in Android settings.

5. No advertising tracking or analytics

Rightpass does not use advertising tracking, third-party analytics, or tracking tools to monitor how you use the app. We do not sell user data to advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or other external parties.

6. Permissions

Rightpass may request only the permissions needed for the app to function. For example, the app may request camera access to scan or add a barcode, photo or file access for images selected by you, and location access for Smart Card Match or Smart Checkout.

These permissions are used only for the features you choose to use.

7. Deleting your data

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete your Rightpass data by removing cards inside the app, clearing the app data through your device settings, or uninstalling the app from your phone.

Since we do not provide cloud storage for your saved cards, we cannot recover cards or information after they have been deleted from your device.

8. Children’s privacy

Rightpass is a productivity app and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.

9. Security

Rightpass is designed to keep your card information on your own device. You are responsible for securing your device, for example by using a screen lock, password, PIN, fingerprint, or other device security options.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means that you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
